TimberlakeTimberlake Ranch Camps - A Member Church Association

"Timberlake is in existence to support, assist and encourage the member churches in order to reach people for Christ and to provide opportunities for creating disciples for Jesus Christ. Think of Timberlake as an off site campus where the ministry of the church is continued." Greg Rhoades, Camp Administrator

Member Church Registration Instruction Sheet
Timberlake Ranch Camps – 2008

Introduction:
Our goal is to simplify the registration process. Campers that register through the member churches are awarded a $30 discount. The church is responsible to collect the registrations – attach the deposit to the registration and send them to Timberlake.

This instruction sheet is intended to help you get kids registered for camp with confidence. Our goal is to do everything we can to make the process easy for you.

It is important that the church has a camp representative. The representative should be someone who will encourage kids to get their registrations in – collect the registrations – coordinate communications with the camp and answer questions.

Lest you become concerned about “another task” – be assured it is all worth the effort. Every year about 10% of the kids that attend camp accept Christ as their Savior. Many more dedicate their life to Christ in a real and meaningful way. It is worth it! Changed lives are what it is all about.

What to do:
• Receive information from the camp and distribute it appropriately. You can expect to receive several packets of information after the first of the year.
• Collect registrations from your campers. The first deadline date is January 31, 2008. The next date is March 31st.
• Complete all church registrations by June 8th. After June 8th there is no member church discount.
• The member church discount is $30 off 5 night camps and $15 off the 2 night camps. Campers that give you their registration will be given the member church discount simply because they signed up with you. The camp will not award a member church discounted fee unless they register through the church and are on your list.
• Keep a running list of those campers that sign up with you and send an updated copy of the list with each bundle of registration forms you collect. This will allow us to confirm the registrations received.
• Simply send the money/check attached to the form. There is no need for you to have the church write a check. We will accept payment from the parent.
• Communicate with your campers that the camp will send a confirmation letter to each camper you register. The camp will collect any balance due.

Thank You for all the work you do! Camp # 308-946-3871

How Can Your Church Use the Camp?

Timberlake will do whatever it can to meet your church's camp needs. Give us a call and see what we can do. Timberlake reserves the right to set aside specific dates, but will work with you to find a time that works for everyone.

Timberlake Association - Annual Meeting

Throughout Timberlake's history, the camp has had a strong emphasis on children and youth ministries, which continues today. Recently there is a movement toward more adult usage of the site. Presently the site has four primary lodging options:

  • The Fort is a totally winterized facility appropriate for all ages
  • Treetopper Camp
  • Railroad Town
  • Lakeside Cabins

In addition there are 20 hookup sites in the RV Park.

With approximately 700 acres, the recreation possibilities are endless. The canoeing, Blob, waterslide, horses, swimming, high ropes challenge course and more is enjoyed by all.

The future is bright for Timberlake. The children's camps are at capacity and the family camps are experiencing record attendance. The long range plan includes steady growth and continued improvements to the facility. Plans being made include a multipurpose building, dining hall and adult housing.

Each member church sends delegates to the annual meeting, which typically meets during the first part of November. At this meeting, member church delegates decide long range direction for the camp ministry and elect the camp board of directors. The directors establish policy and have the general oversight of the camp according to the long range plan.

So, How is the Camp Funded?

Simply stated:

  • 1/2 of the income comes from camper registration fees.
  • 1/4 of the income comes from renting the facility to outside groups
  • 1/4 of the income comes from church and personal donations.

Improvements are funded by donations.
